Get The Kinks Out Of Your Track Work!

On 20 December 1967 the United Aircraft TurboTrain rocketed to an amazing 170.8 MPH on the Pennsylvania Railroad in New Jersey – a feat which remains to this day the fastest speed ever achieved by a production passenger train in the United States or Canada.

Then, on 22 April 1976 a Canadian National TurboTrain travelling between Montreal and Toronto reached a speed of 140.6 MPH – a record that still stands in Canada. Now you too can run trains like a maniac with this, the first ever accurate model of the TurboTrain.

Both engines are sound-equipped, so your TurboTrain will roar at the front and the rear just like the real thing.

Just make sure the track is clear!

In 1972, the Department of Transportation increased Amtrak's TurboTrains to 5 cars each.

A complete Amtrak TurboTrain requires one each #200003, #200301 and #200302, all sold separately.

The car numbers are accurate for this 5-car train.

  • Two powered Power Dome Car engines, each with a 5-pole, skew-wound motor and flywheel
  • Each Power Dome Car has its own sound decoder and speaker
  • One Intermediate Car with accurate windows and interior
  • 100% accurate sounds include turbines, bell, doors, stations announcements, and the distinctive Turbo Horn
  • Correct interior and exterior detail for each paint scheme
  • Constant, directional headlights as well as forward and rear Gyralites
  • Full-width, operating diaphragms and guidance arms (24" radius or greater)
  • Decal sheet with destination signs and optional logos
  • "Padded" armrests
  • Faucets in the bathroom sinks
  • A microwave in the cafe car
  • Numerous factory-applied detail parts
  • Constant interior lighting throughout
  • Reliable operation on DC or DCC layouts
  • Hand-held controller to operate sounds in DC
  • Minimum 18-inch radius (24" radius or greater with diaphragms installed)
  • Additional coach, club and cafe cars available separately
  • Time period: 1971-1973
